The fictitious authorities of the self-proclaimed DPR and LPR appealed to the relevant authorities of the Russian Federation with a request to allow educational institutions operating in the territory of Ukraine occupied by the separatists to issue Russian-style educational documents. According to the so-called "Minister of Education of the DPR", Russian representatives are to come to Donetsk, who "will carry out an examination of educational courses to see if they meet Russian standards."

Since Ukraine does not recognize the self-proclaimed DPR and LPR, it, among other things, is not responsible for any activities of the separatists in the field of education, so any educational documents issued by educational institutions that have not moved to the territory of Ukraine will not be recognized.
