The Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine is actively expanding international cooperation within the framework of the Horizon 2020 program and through international agreements on scientific and technical cooperation. This was announced by the head of the ministry, Liliya Hrynyevich, at the press conference "Report on the work of the Ministry of Education and Culture for 100 days", held at the Cabinet of Ministers on July 22.
"The number of Ukrainian projects of the Horizon 2020 program with the participation of Ukrainian higher education institutions and research organizations has increased to 44, and the budget of Ukrainian participants has increased to 7 million 601 thousand euros," Liliya Hrynevych said.
The minister reported that 50 bilateral projects have been financed today together with international partners, in particular the US Civilian Research and Development Fund (CRDF), the governments of Slovakia, the French Republic, the Republic of Austria and India for a total amount of 1 million 347 thousand hryvnias.
"Our science suffers from underfunding, that's why we are very interested in expanding international scientific cooperation and are actively searching for donors for relevant and significant projects," Lilya Hrynevych added.
The minister also reminded that the reform of the Ukrainian science and innovation system is ongoing, in particular, the first stage of the international audit of the national research system, which is carried out with the support of the European Commission, has been carried out.
