The Ministry of Regional Development, Construction and Housing and Communal Services of Ukraine is updating the state building regulations, in particular, it is considering the possibility of introducing a new change - the design of small schools of the 1st degree (primary schools, grades 1-4), built into the first floors of residential buildings.
Lev Partskhaladze, Deputy Minister of Regional Development, Construction and Housing and Communal Services of Ukraine, announced this on his Facebook page.
"The new DBN regarding urban planning and kindergartens has the opportunity to design small preschools, built-in or built-in-attached to residential buildings. We initiated this change because of the large shortage of kindergartens, especially in the central areas of large cities, where there is not always enough space to place a separate institution. For the same reasons, we are currently considering the possibility of designing small schools of the 1st degree - these are elementary schools, 1-4 grades - according to a similar principle. After all, today about 50% city schools are overcrowded. Children study in classes of 35-40 students or in several shifts. And for children in the first grades, it's a complete stress. Therefore, the opening of small elementary schools on the first floors of buildings will not only be convenient for parents and children, because such a school will be very close, but will also create additional places for students and provide comfortable learning conditions," he said.
According to Partskhaladze, this will make it possible to significantly reduce the disparity between housing construction and social infrastructure, as well as provide residents with necessary and convenient social facilities.
We will remind that in Ukraine it will be allowed to place small kindergartens built-in and built-in-attached to residential buildings. The corresponding norm is contained in the new project DBN B.2.2-12:2018 "Planning and development of territories", which will enter into force on September 1, 2018.
