The other day in Lutsk, on the basis of the Volyn Institute of Postgraduate Pedagogical Education and the Volyn Regional Center for the Rehabilitation of the Visually Impaired, an interregional scientific and methodical seminar "Tasks of psychological-medical-pedagogical consultations and the role of public organizations of the disabled in optimizing special education and implementing inclusive education in the conditions of modern civil society" was held in Lutsk. .
The interregional scientific and methodological seminar was organized on the initiative of the All-Ukrainian public association "National Assembly of Disabled People of Ukraine", the Volyn Regional Fund "Zir", with the support of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, the Department of Education, Science and Youth of the Volyn Regional State Administration, the resource center of educational information of technologies for persons with special needs of the Lviv Polytechnic National University.
About 100 participants took part in the seminar, including representatives of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, the All-Ukrainian Public Association "National Assembly of Disabled People of Ukraine", the Central and Regional Psychological-Medical-Pedagogical Consultations, scientists from the country's leading higher educational institutions, public organizations, who take care of people with visual impairments.
During the seminar, the chief specialist of the Department of Education of Children with Special Needs of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, Yuliya Okhrimenko, emphasized the importance of organizing comprehensive assistance to children with psychophysical and sensory development disorders, familiarized the seminar participants with the activities of the Ministry of Education and Culture regarding the improvement of the legislative and normative-methodical provision of the right to education children with special needs.
Yuliya Okhrimenko drew special attention to the need to consolidate the efforts of state and non-state institutions that take care of the fate of such children in order to achieve a positive result in terms of their socialization, integration into society, as well as the implementation of systematic advisory and educational activities.
At the seminar, in particular, the issues of creating information and resource centers were discussed, the main role of which will be to provide comprehensive assistance to all participants in the educational process of children with special educational needs: teachers, parents, and the public.
Taking into account the relevance, due attention was paid to the issues of training pedagogical personnel to work with children with special educational needs and improving the qualifications of pedagogical workers who work with such children.
As part of the seminar, the participants got acquainted with the experience of implementing inclusive education as part of the experimental activity of the All-Ukrainian level on the basis of the Volodymyr-Volyn specialized comprehensive boarding school of grades I-III "Center for Education and Social and Pedagogical Support".
