In June 2013, the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine noted the high level of development of the "Higher Educational Institution" Automated Management System, awarding it the label "recommended for use in higher educational institutions."
This became possible thanks to the compliance of the system's functionality with the requirements of the Ministry of Education, users, the features of the Bologna process and the trends in the development of modern information technologies.
What is ACS "Higher Educational Institution" today?
An autonomous secure database of students, teachers and documents, filled with tools necessary for managing educational, administrative and economic activities.
As an example, let's take the work of the operator of the admissions office, which in a matter of minutes due to closed access to the database IVS "Education" by the number of the certificate, will check it and automatically fill out the applicant's questionnaire, download the certificate of the external examination and send the information to the EDEBO. And if the applicant has already submitted documents to any university of Ukraine at least once, his application form will be automatically filled in the system. Further, taking into account all categories of entrants, ACS "University" will automatically calculate the competition, build appropriate lists, provide the head of the admissions committee with up-to-date information to create an order on enrolling applicants to higher education. Along with the order, enrollment information will be sent to the dean's subsystem where the applicant will receive student status and a package will be created for ordering student/electronic student tickets.
In the subsystem of the dean's office, specialists of the educational institution develop educational and individual educational plans and create a schedule according to which students will receive knowledge. Study results will be recorded in relevant journals and credit information. The general department will issue the necessary orders, conduct and organize the document flow.
In fact, everything related to the student's education process, from his application for enrollment to graduation with a diploma of education, must be managed, monitored and updated in this information system. It makes it possible to create an order for the production of state-style education documents, including annex to the international diploma Diploma Supplement, or Euro Supplement, which is introduced in higher educational institutions to fulfill Ukraine's obligations as a participant country of the Bologna process.
Access to information in the system is ensured by a three-level degree of protection. Entry into the program is carried out only with the use of a special card - a prototype of an electronic digital signature, and in the ACS itself user identification is carried out with additional demarcation of access rights.
