There will be no rapid development of innovations in the school without extensive dissemination of progressive ideas. This was emphasized by the Minister of Education Liliya Hrynevych following her participation in the EdCamp educational forum held in Kharkiv.
"Kharkiv teacher's EdCamp impressed with progressive teachers, interesting experts, frank conversations - general synergy of efforts around the idea of a new school and the quality of education," the minister emphasized on her Facebook page.
She also expressed her belief that the future lies in strong communities of teachers, and EdCamp is forming such a community in Ukraine.
"In 2018, children will enter the first grade of a new Ukrainian school. For this, we need to retrain 25,000 teachers. We will show them how to work according to new methods, how to use a competence approach and develop soft skills in children," the minister said.
However, according to her, there will be no rapid development of innovations in the school without extensive dissemination of progressive ideas.
"New methods should be spread not only and not so much from above, but through such grassroots initiatives as EdCamp, as well as through horizontal connections - direct communication between teachers. And this will become possible if the community continues to develop in the future," the Minister of Education emphasized.
She also emphasized that Ukraine has a significant number of teachers who can become a determining factor in carrying out the reform.
