The Ministry of Education and Science has approved an approximate list of equipment that should be used to fill the classrooms of inclusive resource centers. The list includes multimedia equipment, tablets, interactive sensory modules, furniture, developmental and corrective didactic materials, etc. The Government has allocated about 100 million hryvnias for its purchase.
"Inclusive resource centers are being created in Ukraine in order to determine the special educational needs of children and provide them with psychological and pedagogical assistance. These centers will help ensure every child's right to education. After all, before the start of training, specialists must determine how and according to which program children with special educational needs should study. In addition, it is necessary to provide constant support for such children, to conduct remedial classes with them", said the general director of the directorate of inclusive and extracurricular education Larisa Samsonova.
She added that currently more than 116 IRCs have already been created in Ukraine, but in total there will be almost 800 of them working throughout the country. At the start of the reform, the Government will support regional state administrations with an educational subsidy from the state budget, which provides support for persons with special educational needs. Its total amount is UAH 560 million. Of these, 100 million will go to purchase equipment to equip the IRC. Further support for the work of these offices will be provided at the expense of regional budgets.
